AFTERCARE:

Cosmetic tattoo creates beautiful full brows (defined eyes/lively lips), but to ensure you get the results you want, following these aftercare instructions is essential.

Note: All permanent makeup procedures carry inherent risk of infection and/or allergic reactions, so if swelling, pain, or bruising persists more than a few days, there is odor, thick/yellow/greenish discharge, or fever/chills, it may be a sign of infection or something more. If so, please seek medical attention right away.

Day 1-5: The first couple days the color of the treatment area will be the darkest! It's completely normal for them to look darker/bolder due to being fresh.
Directions: Please do not pick the treatment area. Please apply the ointment I provide you morning and evening to mitigate itchiness. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Be sure not to over-apply which can suffocate the skin and interfere with the skin's healing process.

Day 5-14: Your new skin will start to harden and itch. This is normal but you aren't allowed to scratch the treatment area. You might begin to see visible scab formation. Do not intentionally initiate premature removal by picking or peeling! You will remove pigment along with the crusting and create potential for scarring.
Directions: Please continue to apply the ointment as directed.

After Day 14: The scabbing stage is completed and you might notice the treatment area to be patchy and much lighter. Do not panic! The treatment area looks lighter because new skin forms on top of the pigment.
Directions: At this point, you can be more relaxed and resume your daily skincare routine with some exceptions:
1. If your daily cleanser or moisturizer contains retinol, anti-aging, skin brightening or lightening properties, please avoid use on treatment area.
2. Continue to avoid Botox, lasers, chemical peels, and anything containing acids (glycolic, lactic, AHA) on or around the treatment area.
3. Avoid tanning during this period. Wear a hat when outdoors. The tan will exfoliate taking color with it as it fades. Please use a good sunscreen daily to help prevent premature fading.

6-12 weeks: This is the period you are allowed to receive a retouch session. Don't forget that in order to achieve the best results, a retouch session is recommended.
The retouch service exists to fix any gaps, patches, and any irregularities that appeared during the healing process. During the retouch session, I will go over your eyebrows again, exactly repeating the initial session. This repetition helps the tattoo last longer and encourages the ink to embed more permanently into the skin.

After your retouch session following your initial procedure, you shouldn't need another appointment for another year or so, depending on your skin and how well you followed the aftercare recommendations. Generally speaking, cosmetic tattoo lasts between 1-3 years (depending on the individual's skin type and how well aftercare instructions were followed).

Important reminders for the first 10 days:
1. Do not apply makeup on treatment area.
2. Limit contact with animals near treatment area
3. When cleaning treatment site, always wash hands first as your fingers may have bacteria on them and possibly create an infection.
4. Avoid drinking excessive alcohol as it can cause slower wound healing.
5. Avoid hot sweaty activities, exercise, or sports. It is recommended to not sweat excessively for the first two weeks after the procedure. Sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.
6. Keep your face out of direct contact with water while you wash your body and hair facing away from the showerhead.
